This variety is from the citrus collection of the Palais de Carnolès in Menton. The Bizzaria was described by Risso in 1818 as a chimera of a citron and a sour orange, but unlike the “Bizzaria de’ Medici”, these fruits have the characteristic appearance of a sour orange.
