It is widely grown in Portugal and exported to other European countries. The tree grows straight and erect, and the leaves are similar to the common mandarin. The fruit is fairly large and usually spherical or oval. The flesh is juicy, slightly tart, with many polyembryonic seeds. The ripe fruit may remain on the tree at length without losing quality, but does not last long after picking.
