It is a vigorous plant, with spreading growth, and shiny green oval leaves with alate petiole. The flowers are white and fragrant and grow both in clusters and singly. It is remontant but flowers principally in spring. The large fruit is orange when ripe and often characterized by the formation of a second, much smaller internal fruit (or “foetus”). It is grotesque in appearance with a pronounced navel or protuberances.
