The petiole is stiff and 6-19mm long, with a slight wing on the upper part. The small axillary flowers are usually in pairs on a short stalk. The fruit is small and rounded with a diameter of 4.5cm, and thin, smooth rind, containing five segments. The seeds are ovoid and flat, 10x15mm. The species is little known today, but the version grown in the Malaysian peninsula is called “limau pagar” or “hedge lime”.
