It is a vigorous, fairly productive plant with branches that tend to be partly pendulous. It is characterized by its long, narrow, lanceolate leaves similar to those of the willow tree (Salix sp.), hence its name. The flowers are white and the fruit is similar to the Seville orange, sometimes with a slightly pronounced neck, and bright orange when ripe. The plant can also be reproduced from seed.
