It is a very old variety, of unknown origin, which grows only in the orchards of the Gargano Peninsula. Duretta means \u201chard\u201d and refers to the particularly firm, crisp flesh, which is practically seedless. The oranges ripen in December and their production has always been very limited, making them highly sought after. The harvest period is from early December to the end of April. This variety is grown in valleys due to its higher cold hardiness."}
