The plant is highly productive, with few thorns and medium-large rounded leaves. It has a rounded, drooping growth habit and is not very vigorous. The flowers are large and rather coriaceous. The early-ripening fruit is flattened at the ends and small for a pomelo (10–12 cm diameter). It has smooth, tight, thick rind (1–2 cm) that turns pale yellow like a lemon when ripe. The light yellow flesh is moderately sweet and juicy, with a faintly bitter, acidic flavour. It is distributed in 12–15 segments that are difficult to separate. The membranes of the segments are thick and hard, while the flesh inside them is contained in small vesicles that are easy to separate and can be eaten like a pomegranate. The Kao Pan pomelo is considered the finest Thai pomelo. "}
