This lemon variety was known in the 19th century, and was called \u201cLunario\", because in its area of origin it flowers at each new moon; and also \"four-seasons lemon\u201d because it bears fruit all year round. It is a vigorous and very productive remontant plant; like the Femminello Comune, it produces both fruit and flowers all year round. The leaves are dark green and elliptical, with a pointed tip, the buds are purple and grow both singly and in clusters. The fruit is elongate, with a pronounced neck in the peduncular area and a nipple at the apex. The fruit has thin rind and slightly acidic juicy flesh with few seeds. Unlike the Florentine lemon, this cultivar only becomes fully productive when mature."}
