The Clementina di Calabria has a spheroidal shape slightly flattened at the poles. The smooth, dark orange skin contains a juicy and aromatic pulp. The fruit is characterized by the absence of seeds and is easy to peel as the epicarp is smooth and very thin; it can be enjoyed fresh or can be made into candied fruit, jams, juices, sorbets, sweets and liqueurs. The harvest takes place from October to February, depending on the variety.
\nCultivation has spread to Calabria since the 1950s, thanks to favorable climatic conditions.
