This variety originated from a seed thought to have been taken from Borneo to Tahiti, and later introduced to Hawaii. The plant has thick, deep green foliage. The thin rind is greenish yellow, while the flesh becomes amber when fully ripe. The fruit is sweet and juicy with a flavour that can be reminiscent of melon or lime. This variety is often used in the development of new cultivars of pomelos and grapefruit.
